Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Kennedy on loan until the end of the season from Stevenage FC subject to FA, EFL and international clearance.
A product of Stevenage's youth Academy, Ben has made over 130 first team appearances for Stevenage, netting 31 goals in the process.
An exciting attacking midfielder who can also play as a striker, the 22-year-old has also made several appearances at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level for his native Northern Ireland.
Ben has made 25 appearances so far this season for Stevenage, making 22 starts, finding the back of the net 6 times.
Kennedy joins County on loan and will stay at Rodney Parade until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Straight after the signing was completed, Manager Michael Flynn said "It's a great bit of business for us. He's a player I have always liked, every time he has played against us he has caused us problems.
He always chips in with a few goals, he likes assisting and creating goals as well. This is a very, very important signing for us."
The attacking midfielder spoke to #iFollowExiles shortly after signing on the dotted line: "I am delighted to get it all done. The Manager gave me a lot of positives about the Club, it's a fresh challenge for me and I can't wait to get started.
"I want to help the team climb back up the table. I'd like to say I am a very versatile player, I like to work hard for the team off the ball, create chances and make things happen."
Subject to clearance, Ben is available for selection for this weekend's Sky Bet League Two clash against Grimsby Town. Purchase tickets online here for that match to join the Amber Army on the road this weekend.
