The Club can today confirm that defender Andrew Hughes has informed us that he will be leaving this summer.
The County Academy graduate made his debut for the club in December 2008 as a 16 year old in the Conference South. Andrew remained part of the first team squad for eight further years, making 141 appearances for the club during that time.Andrew also appeared in the FA Trophy Final against York City, whilst being part of the Conference Premier Promotion winning side in 2013, following our 2-0 victory against Wrexham at Wembley Stadium.
Upon returning to The Football League, Andrew made his debut in the League Cup in our 3-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion, while making his Football League debut against Northampton Town just four days later.
Andrew scored his first Football League goal in a 1-1 draw away to Scunthorpe United in August 2013 and has been ever present in the side during our Football League campaigns.
Despite an injury set back in 2014/15 Andrew returned to the side in November and went on to make a further 28 appearances throughout the 2015/16 season.
The Club would like to place on record our thanks for Andrew during his time with the club and wish him the very best for the future within the game.
