JOSS LABADIE SIGNS FOR THE EXILES

Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Joss Labadie on a two-year deal.

The twenty-five-year-old has over two-hundred Football League appearances to his name and joins the Exiles as Manager Warren Feeney's fourth addition to his squad during the close season.

The midfielder began his career at West Bromwich Albion, before spells on loan at Shrewsbury, Cheltenham Town and Tranmere Rovers.

In 2010 Labadie joined Tranmere Rovers on a permanent basis and went on to make over sixty appearances for Tranmere, before joining Notts County.

Labadie joins the Exiles after spending the past two seasons at Dagenham & Redbridge, where he made over fifty appearances in League Two for the East-London outfit.

Speaking after confirming the move this afternoon, the midfielder alluded to how excited he was to be working with Manager Warren Feeney next season.

"I'm really looking forward to the challenge ahead," said Labadie.

"After spending time speaking with Warren it soon became apparent that this was the right place for me to pledge my future to."

"All the players that Warren has recruited so far are very experienced players and it has the potential to become a very successful team."

Manager Warren Feeney added, "The capture of Joss is another big signing for the Club."

"He is a great all round midfielder and I know there was quite a bit of interest in him from other teams."

"He is a very hard worker and I’ve seen him score some fantastic goals in the games I have seen him play. Joss is another player coming in who has great experience of playing at this level and even the division above."

"I outlined the plans that the Board and myself have for the Club and Joss wanted to come down and get the deal signed straight away."
