Newport County is pleased to unveil the club’s exciting new website that brings the Amber Army closer to their beloved Exiles than ever before.
Following the recent takeover by majority owner Huw Jenkins, the club took the decision to leave its long-standing digital contract with the EFL and team up with leading digital agency Other Media for a complete revamp that forms part of the club’s new digital transformation programme.
The club will also be launching a new bespoke mobile app in the next few weeks.
Our new website will be the main destination for all things Newport County across fully optimised mobile, tablet and desktop devices that will strengthen the fan engagement experience and allow the club to increase its communications with supporters.
While the website has gone live today, we are only just beginning the journey. New sections and developments will be added and updated over the next few weeks so that it becomes the one-stop shop for all your club news and information.
The website will also include a ‘Single Sign-On’ development which allows you to create your own club account, so you don’t have to sign in separately to access tickets, retail or streaming products. Not only will it create a much more user-friendly experience when visiting our different platforms, it will enable us to tailor and prioritise our communications to you via the likes of mobile push notifications and our Exiles Express newsletter.
We will be relaunching Exiles TV as our new streaming and video service to replace iFollow, and introducing a match centre that will allow you to follow all the action as it happens, together with the likes of polls, galleries, stats, quizzes and predictors.
“One of our priorities is to transform and modernise our digital business across the club from communications, ticketing, retail and commercial,’’ explained marketing manager Tom Morgan. “This investment in the website and forthcoming mobile app will help us achieve that goal.
“The aim is to bring fans closer to the club through enhanced editorial content and platforms, while also realising the growing digital opportunities in the commercial market that will ultimately benefit matters on the pitch.’’
Media manager, Mackenzie Thomas, added: “Other Media is the perfect digital partner to help us achieve that. They have a first-class reputation in the digital world with a portfolio of clubs that includes the likes of West Ham, WBA, Swansea City, Cardiff City, Plymouth, Peterborough and Bolton, so we have a wealth of expertise to call on.’’
George Crabb, Managing Director at Other Media, was delighted to welcome Newport County to their growing stable of professional sports clubs.
“It has become evident to us since Newport County’s recent takeover that there is a determination and ambition to drive the football club forward. Now this latest bold move to develop the club's own website, app, and streaming service, is the start of an exciting new era for the Exiles and we're thrilled to be working with the club."
