Shane McLoughlin has been ruled out of Newport County’s clash against Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon.
The defender, who came off during the opening three minutes of last weekend’s home defeat to Port Vale, will be sidelined for up to six weeks with a knee injury.
Asked about Mcloughlin’s condition and availability for the clash with the Robins, Nelson Jardim told his pre-match press conference: “Shane has added to our injury list. We expect him to be out for six weeks but we always have to find the positives and it was nothing serious that would need surgery.
“He overstretched and the structures around the knee were overloaded but luckily there is nothing broken.”
The fitness of Joe Thomas and James Clarke continues to be monitored.
