Newport County is excited to announce the signing of Cameron Antwi from Cardiff City, subject to EFL approval.
The highly rated midfielder, who came through Fulham’s academy ranks, has joined the Exiles on a two-year deal.
The 22-year-old began his career at the Cottagers before making the switch to Blackpool in 2019. During his tenure at Bloomfield Road, he advanced from the under-18s to the first team, making two appearances in League One. He also gained valuable experience with loan spells at AFC Telford United and Southport.
In 2022, Antwi moved to the Bluebirds, where he became a key player in Darren Purse’s Under-21 squad. Last season, he made his first team debut against Sheffield Wednesday in the Emirates FA Cup.
Now, he is ready to embark on a new chapter, this time in NP19 with Newport County.
After finalising the deal, he said, “I’m absolutely buzzing to be here.
“It’s been a long time coming as we’ve been in talks for a while, but I’m delighted to finally get everything over the line.
“When I spoke to everyone at Newport, I knew this was the right club for me.”
