Newport County has completed the loan signing of Kieron Evans from Cardiff City for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, subject to EFL approval.
The 22-year-old, fresh from signing a new contract with the Bluebirds this summer, joined the academy at under-8 level, going on to make his first team debut on September 12, 2021, coming in a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Evans has previously gained experience on loan at Linfield and Torquay United, before spending the second half of the 2023-24 campaign at Gateshead, where he won the FA Trophy at Wembley.
A creative and attacking midfielder, Evans more recently featured for the Bluebirds in their Carabao Cup triumph over Bristol Rovers earlier this month, and will bolster Nelson Jardim’s attacking options in the final third.
Evans will wear the number 17 shirt.
“I’m delighted to be joining the club,” he said after putting pen to paper.
“I had several offers from Football League clubs, but I felt Newport County was the right move for me.
“I believe the style of football will suit my game. It’s a different philosophy from last season and I am really excited about trying to make my mark.’’
Welcome to the Exiles, Kieron!
