Newport County defender Matt Baker has been called up to the Cymru U21 squad ahead of their final 2025 UEFA U21 EURO qualifier against Czechia and friendly against Slovakia.
The 21-year-old - who joined the Exiles on a permanent deal this summer- will represent Matty Jones’ side as they look to become the first Wales U21 team to qualify for a major tournament when they face Czechia at Rodney Parade on Friday, October 11 (5.30pm).
As it stands in Group I, Cymru will automatically qualify for the finals in Slovakia as one of the three best group runners-up with a win, but retaining this position could depend on results elsewhere. A draw against Czechia will guarantee a play-off place - the first for a Wales intermediate age group since 2008.
