How do I get to Prenton Park Stadium?
Car
Prenton Park is around 191 miles away from Rodney Parade. This means Saturday’s trip is going to be just 400 miles there and back. This journey should take around three and a half hours.
Train
Tranmere is one of the most difficult grounds in League Two to reach by train. The nearest station to Prenton Park is Rock Ferry, and to reach this, fans will need to get to Liverpool or Chester and then take the Merseyside Rail trains to get there.
The easiest route there this Saturday is to take the 09:37 from Newport to Chester. You can then change and get the 12:27 from Chester to Rock Ferry. This will get you to the station at 12:57. It is then around 30 minutes to Prenton Park.
Alternatively, you can head to Liverpool Lime Street and make your way from there to Rock Ferry. However, this is longer from Newport and involves more changes.
Whichever route you decide to take, we recommend giving yourself plenty of time to ensure you can make your connections.
Can I park near the stadium?
Prenton Park is one of the few clubs in League Two to offer matchday parking. However, fans will need to book in advance, and there are limited spaces. The cost is £6 per car or £10 per mini-bus.
Fans should contact: tickets@tranmererovers.co.uk
Alternatively, there is limited street parking available near the stadium, but fans will need to be vigilant for parking notices and restrictions.
How far is the train station to Tranmere Rovers FC?
As we have mentioned, Prenton Park is not particularly well located if you are arriving on the train. The nearest station is Rock Ferry, which is around a 30-minute walk from the ground. Alternatively, you can take the number 38 bus towards West Kirby from Kings Lane and get off four stops later at Stuart Road, which is around five minutes from the ground.
Where to eat and drink locally
Tranmere Rovers serves up some excellent match-day food and drink options for away fans. The Platinum Lounge facility is the club’s hospitality offering and is open for both home and away fans. This has to be booked in advance.
There is a fan park at the stadium that is open to fans outside the Main Stand. There is a large bar and several popular food outlets. They also show live football in the build-up to the match.
There are also several outlets near the stadium if you want to explore. The Mersey Clipper, which is located close to the stadium, is extremely popular, but you might need to book in advance.
