Newport will look to make it three consecutive away wins when they make the journey to Buckinghamshire to take on MK Dons this Saturday afternoon.
MK Dons currently sit in fifth position while we look to build on our recent run of strong form and push into the top half. Graham Coughlan’s team have registered five wins in their last six and have lost just one of their last nine matches.
We always come into the game having won our last two away games - a 1-0 win away at Doncaster and a 3-0 win at Walsall.
Manager's Comments
"We watched them [MK Dons] the other night, they're a really good team," began the Manager.
"They're a possession based team, they win a lot of fouls and are a very good technical side.
"They like to play inside, they create shooting opportunities. All in all they have a really strong team to be honest," admitted Coughlan.
"They are a big club, with a big stadium and like I've said before, they'll be up there [top end of the table].
"Anybody that finishes above MK Dons will be in a really healthy and strong position, I know they're fifth in the table but I'd expect you to take automatic promotion, if you finish above MK Dons."

Opposition Form
MK Dons come into Saturday’s game in mixed form. They have won three, lost two, and drawn one of their last six matches.
Two early goals from Stephen Wearne were enough to secure a 2-1 win away at Swindon last weekend, with a late Charlie Austin consolation pulling one back for the hosts.
They then clashed with fellow promotion hopefuls Wrexham in the week in what was a fiery 1-1 draw. Wrexham took the lead through James McClean, but MK pulled one back quickly, with Dan Kemp getting on the scoresheet, grabbing his second goal since returning from his successful loan spell at Swindon.
Dean Lewington, who recently completed a record-breaking 900th appearance for the club, was sent off in the 60th minute and will miss Saturday’s encounter.
Mike Williamson’s team have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the game, though he may look to make a few changes for what will be the side’s fifth game in 14 days.
Last Time Out

Head to Head
We played MK Dons for the first time in 2016, a 3-2 loss in the League Cup. Saturday’s match will only be our fourth league encounter with MK. In our three games so far, we have lost twice and drawn once.
Our only victory against MK Dons came in the Football League Trophy when we registered a 3-0 win in 2020.
Played for Both
The most notable man to have played for both teams this weekend will be Cameron Norman. Norman has been a consistent presence in the MK starting eleven under Mike Williamson and is playing a key role in their promotion push.
Norman made over 100 appearances for Newport, becoming a fan favourite with his strong performances at Rodney Parade, winning last season’s Player of the Season award. He left South Wales at the end of last season, being signed by Graham Alexander at MK Dons shortly after.
Another player in the MK starting XI who has spent time at Newport is Alex Gilbey. Gilbey was on loan with us over a decade ago, in 2013. The 29-year-old is now in his second spell at Stadium MK, having also spent time at Wigan, Charlton, and Stevenage.
