Newport will look to return to winning ways after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat away at MK Dons.
Graham Coughlan made one change to his team ahead of Saturday’s match, bringing in James Waite for Harry Charsley.
The Gaffer made several changes at the start of the second half this weekend in response to a difficult opening 45 minutes against the Dons. He may look to utilise some of those players for the second game in what is a very tough week for the Exiles.
Shane McLoughlin was subbed off 18 minutes into the game in Milton Keynes and will likely miss this evening’s match.
Opposition Form
Harrogate Town come into Tuesday’s encounter on the back of a 2-0 home defeat against Walsall at the weekend.
The Sulphurites had put together an incredible run up until a few weeks ago. Simon Weaver’s team had only experienced one loss from November 28th through February 13th, winning seven out of ten games. Of course, that run was brought to a grinding halt when they found themselves on the wrong end of a 9-2 scoreline against promotion-chasing Mansfield.
Since then, Harrogate have drawn 0-0 with Crewe and lost 2-0 against Walsall, seemingly still struggling to recover from that loss.
Simon Weaver has named an unchanged side for his team’s last four games but may look to make some changes after a gruelling fixture schedule and a poor run of form.
Jack Muldoon has been a major player for the North Yorkshire side this campaign and is expected to retain his spot up front. Matty Daly, George Thomson and Abraham Odoh are expected to line behind him.
The Sulphurites have no fresh injury concerns ahead of Tuesday’s encounter.
Last Time Out
Our last match with Harrogate took place at Rodney Parade at the start of October. George Thomson opened the scoring for the visitors, firing home from outside the box in the 42nd minute. He would then turn provider at the start of the second, swinging in a corner for Anthony O’Connor to head home. Will Evans would pull one back up for us minutes later, but we were unable to find a way back into the game.
Ticket Info
Tickets will not be able to be purchased on the gate, however can be purchased via the Harrogate website.
You can read more information about visiting the EnviroVent Stadium in our Away day guide.
Head to Head
Our first encounter with Harrogate Town was in the 2020/21 season. We have played each other seven times since, with each game featuring a minimum of three goals. We have won three, drawn once, and lost three. Our last trip North to Harrogate ended in a dominant 4-0 win.
Played for Both
Harrogate Town are the only team in the league that we share zero notable players with. This is likely to do with The Sulphurites’ surprise journey into the Football League in the 19/20 and the fact we had not shared a league with them until then.
