From the Archive | An Impressive 4-0 Win At Rodney Parade

This Tuesday night, we make the long journey to Yorkshire to take on Harrogate Town. Travelling nearly five hours up north to stand in the cold is always a difficult ask, so to help you warm up ahead of the game, we’ve taken a dip into the archives to revisit our 4-0 demolition of Tuesday’s opponent at Rodney Parade in January 2022.

Things got off to a strong start when Josh Falkingham stumbled into Dom Telford in the area, leaving the referee with no decision but to point to the spot. Captain Fantastic Mickey Demetriou stepped up and slotted the ball past Mark Oxley to give us the 1-0 lead.

Finn Azaz then made a darting run down the left, playing the ball across to Dom Telford, who cleverly flicked it past Oxley at the near post to double our lead just before half-time.

Azaz and Telford would team up once again just four minutes into the second half. The lively attacking midfielder found Telford on the edge of the box, with the striker taking a touch before expertly slotting it home to make it 3-0.

The fourth and final goal of the game would come in the 55th minute. Azaz would top of an incredible performance with his third assist of the afternoon, feeding through Courtney Baker-Richardson, who danced around the oncoming Oxley, riding challenges from two Harrogate defenders before slotting it into the net.
