Manager Graham Coughlan admitted his side were well below the standards set after they fell to a 1-0 defeat against Grimsby Town.
A first half strike from Danny Rose was enough to condenm the Exiles to their fourth straight defeat in League Two.
"We weren’t good enough," began Coughlan.
"We made a mistake at the back and it’s similar to last week. We’re leaving things, we’re hesitant.
"They [Grimsby] were sharper from the beginning and then they stuck the ball into the back of the net. We didn’t do that, they did.
"They looked hungry and they had a cause which was probably greater than our cause today so fair play to them.
"That is where we are at this moment in time, and it’s sad looking at where these lads were to where they are now.
"I don’t think we were good enough today, to be quite honest. We were lucky that it was only one and it’s not a nice place to be at this moment in time.
"We’ve got four games left and we’ll see what the future holds."
He added: "We’re missing a couple of players.
"We’re missing a whole back five really with injuries and all that but, like I say, those who step up to the plate and those who come into the team have to give the same as what the other lads were doing. One or two players have fallen short of that.
"This group of lads have come a long way, they’ve done brilliant but the season is not 38, 39 games, the season is 46 games. As professional footballers they need to show that.
"It’s personal pride, and they need to show professional standards.
"They can’t have me driving and pushing them all the time because there’s only so much I can do."
