Newport convincingly beat Doncaster Rovers 3-1 away at the Eco-Power Stadium with goals from Farquharson, Wildig and Norman.
It was a tough start for County as it seemed end to end throughout the first ten minutes, until Doncaster found a way through, from Kyle Hurst after a deflected shot beat Joe Day in the Newport net.
County had various chances closing in on half-time with Bogle poaching from the front, jumping on loose passes and sloppy possession at the Doncaster defence.
It was half-time that changed the game.
In the second half it was fast and clever football from the off for County eventually breaking level with a dazzling header from number 6 Priestley Farquharson in the 63rd minute which was just out of reach for Mitchell in goal.
It wasn’t long before County doubled their lead through an absolute rocket of a strike in the 70th minute from Aaron Wildig who’s shot couldn’t have been placed any better in top bins if he tried. The lay-off from Bogle was exquisite and the perfect assist to ensure it was tee’d up perfectly for Wildig to strike and strike he did!
County didn’t let up though making sure the job was done with another long throw from the Skipper, flicked on by Cameron Norman and it rolls in the bottom corner.
Doncaster tried to respond, with various attacks but dealt with effectively by the County back line.
