On Monday the 10th April, Newport County travel to Edgeley park to face play-off chasers Stockport County in the Skybet EFL League Two.
Newport County go into the fixture on a six-game unbeaten run after picking up three points, last time out against promotion pushers Northampton Town in a convincing 3-0 win at Rodney Parade on Good Friday. Stockport County will be looking to progress on their unbeaten run after they have gone seven games without a loss, picking up three points on Good Friday against Sutton united – In the battle of the Counties who will come out on top?
When asked about the fixture, Newport County Manager Graham Coughlan said, “It’s a game we’re looking forward to, again it’s another top of the table team, they’re up there for a reason because they’re a good team and our away form is not too bad.” He added. “We were excellent against Northampton, the other day, we were very good, but that’s obviously in the past, we’ve got to move on now and look at the next challenge and like I said, those keywords, consistency, continuity that’s what we’re striving for”.
An attendance of 4982 at Rodney Parade on Friday made it a fortress and a fantastic atmosphere that helped us go on to win those three points! More of the same tomorrow please Exiles.
Safe travels to all those making the 344-mile round trip to Edgeley Park tomorrow!
