It's Friday night football in store for Newport County as we make the trip to Crewe Alexandra.
While County's last two games have seen two cup defeats to MK Dons and Derby County, both of League One, our last league game ended in success thanks to a 2-0 win over struggling Gillingham.
Crewe also tasted cup defeat last weekend, as they were on the wrong side of a 3-0 scoreline at Barnsley in the FA Cup.
The Railwaymen are in good spirits though and have this week made caretaker manager Lee Bell the job on a full-time basis after two league wins out of two, and success over Leyton Orient in the first round of the FA Cup.
Former County forward Courtney Baker-Richardson will miss the game though a hamstring injury, while Chris Long and Callum Ainley are also long-term absentees for the Alex.
Newport meanwhile will still be without James Clarke, Offrande Zanzala and Aaron Wildig.
County haven't made the trip to Crewe since 2019 with our last victory there coming in 2017 thanks to goals from Dan Butler and Joss Labadie in a 2-1 scoreline.
