Newport County AFC are delighted to announce that Josh Sheehan has signed a two-year contract extension with the Club.
Now staying at Rodney Parade until the end of the 2020/21 season, the 24-year-old creative attacking midfielder was a constant threat in the County starting XI in our recent Play-Off Final reaching campaign.
After finalising terms, Sheehan said: “I’m delighted to extend my stay at Rodney Parade. Ever since I first came on loan at the Club from Swansea as a teenager I have enjoyed playing my football here.
It was such a shame to end such a memorable season with a play-off final defeat, but I’m very excited to remain a part of the squad and hopefully, I can play my part in another successful season next year.
The fans have been brilliant with me ever since I have joined so I hope this news means we have start off the summer well! I am already looking forward to pre-season.”
Manager Michael Flynn said: "I'm delighted Josh has extended his stay with the Club, he is player that really kicked on during the second half of last season.
He is a very talented player and is someone who fits in with my style of play of playing more football."
Josh Sheehan has made 82 appearances in Amber and has always been a hit with the County faithful following his initial successful loan move from former Club Swansea City back in the 2016/17 season.
Josh Sheehan adds to the squad who are already signed up for the upcoming 2019/20 Sky Bet League Two season. Click here to read our full retain and release list.
