Cheltenham Fixture ReArranged

Following requests from police and safety authorities, the fixture between Newport County AFC and Cheltenham Town FC will now take place at 7.45pm on Friday 15th March at Rodney Parade instead of 3pm on Saturday 16th March.

The Guinness Six Nations fixture between Wales and Ireland at 2.45pm on Saturday 16 March, is a potential Grand Slam and Championship decider, and would have clashed with the original scheduled Newport County AFC vs Cheltenham Town kick-off time of 3pm.

It would have placed additional pressure on stewarding, policing and travel and therefore the decision has been made by both Newport, Cheltenham and the EFL to re-arrange the date and time of the match.

Both clubs appreciate the short notice for moving the kick-off time for this fixture, and understand that some supporters may be inconvenienced by this late decision.

However, we hope that this will enable more supporters to enjoy the climax to the Six Nations Championship as well as following their teams in this exciting Sky Bet League Two clash safely and with minimal travel disruption.
