Today, it has been confirmed that six of our second-year scholars will be heading out on a work-experience loan, looking to gain competitive first-team football.
Midfielder Evan Press, who made his first-team debut for County in the Checkatrade Trophy against Cheltenham Town this season, has agreed a deal with Welsh League Division One side Undy Athletic. The 17-year-old will be available for their match against Goytre United this Saturday.
Michael Cook, who is the top goal-scorer for Byron Anthony’s U18 side, with 11 goals this season, will join Southern League One West side Cinderford Town. Defender Joe Hunt will also join the forward at Cinderford Town, and both players be available for Cinderford’s game against Yate Town this weekend.
17-year-old midfielder Tom Savigar and 17-year-old defender Jay Williams have both agreed deals to join Welsh League Division One side Port Talbot Town on loan. The duo will available for Port Talbot’s game against Cwmbran Celtic on Saturday.
Finally, Liam Warman is set to head to Welsh League Division One side Pen-Y-Bont, subject to paperwork.
Academy Manager Byron Anthony said: “It is really important for the second-year scholars to gain first team football experience, we are grateful to the loan clubs for giving them this opportunity; this will be beneficial to the players future development.”
We wish the players all the best during their loan spell away from the club.
