Newport County AFC will play Stevenage for their opening game of the season. Michael Flynn and his men look to build on the momentum they built at the tail end of last season and kick-start the season with a win at The Lamex Stadium.
Due to the WRU laying a new DESSO Pitch, County’s first home game won’t be until 26th August when they host newcomers Chesterfield and boss Gary Caldwell.
Our final home game of the season will be against Cambridge United on the 28th April where we hope to generate an atmosphere like the one in the final game of last season vs Notts County – though perhaps without the stomach-wrenching tension and the 6 minutes of total despair between an 83rd minute winner at Victoria Park and an 89th minute winner at Rodney Parade!
Our final match of the season will also be the longest away trip of the season – away at Carlisle United. The Exiles will be away at Wycombe Wanderers on Boxing Day whilst we host Exeter City on New Year’s Day.
