Newport County AFC and Crewe Alexandra have agreed to reverse the fixtures between the two Clubs. This means the fixture on 12th August 2017 will now be played at Gresty Road whilst the fixture on the 24th March 2018 will now be played at Rodney Parade.
This comes after the EFL granted Newport County permission to reverse or postpone any home fixtures in August giving the WRU time to install a new DESSO pitch. With the fixtures reversed, The Exiles will now have trips to Stevenage, Southend United (Caraboa Cup), Crewe Alexandra and Coventry City through August before playing their first match at Rodney Parade on the 26th August vs Chesterfield.
At the other end of the season, the reversal of the fixture means we will welcome Accrington Stanley, Luton Town, Crewe Alexandra, and Coventry City to Rodney Parade in March.
