Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the loan signing of striker Joe Quigley. The 20-year old striker comes in as the manger continues to strengthen his options upfront.
Joe is tall, strong and a handful for any defence and – as well as impressing in AFC Bournemouth’s academy – has proven himself on loans including a spell at fellow Welsh side Wrexham and a loan spell at Gillingham where he played alongside Summer-signing Frank Nouble.
On finalising the deal, Manager Michael Flynn said: “I’m delighted to get Joe in. He did well at Gillingham before getting an injury last season and he’s got a really good fighting spirit and attitude. He can run in behind so it gives us more of a central figure if we want three upfront but he can also play in a two as-well.”
In an exclusive interview with iFollowExiles this morning, Joe said: “I’m delighted to sign a loan deal at Newport County. I’ve come in this morning and I knew a couple of the lads before but they’ve all been sound. It’s a Club on the up and I’m delighted to be here for the journey.”
