ST DAVID'S HOSPICE WIN TRUST CHARITY VOTE

St David’s Hospice Care announced as the winner of the Supporters Trust Charity kit vote.

Almost five-hundred Trust members took part in the flash vote that began on Tuesday and concluded last night, with St David’s Hospice emerging as clear winners with a 70% share of the vote.

The charity will now be included on the back of the playing shirts next season.

Tania Ansell, Community Fundraiser & Events Organiser for St David’s Hospice said, “We are really excited that Newport County FC have chosen to display our logos on their shirts. It is great to team up as a local charity and local football team in building awareness and support for hospice care in the community"

Director Gavin Foxall added, “It has been great to involve the Trust members in the decision making process once again.”

“The fans have chosen St David’s Hospice, who I am sure will benefit greatly from the vast exposure they will receive from being on the back of our home shirts.”

“Not many clubs’ offer this kind of opportunity to local charities and it reflects that community is now very much at the heart of the Club.”

He added, “Unfortunately there was always going to be a loser in the vote, and we are looking at the possibility of having Llamau represented on an away kit, subject to what restrictions are imposed on us by our kit manufacturers.”

The kit will now go through the final stages of design, ahead of a launch before the end of the season.
