SCHOLARS SIGN AHEAD OF THE NEW SEASON

Newport County AFC are pleased to announce the intake of this year's scholars, as the Senior Academy recruits the next generation of Newport County AFC players.

Jay Williams, Joshua Williams, Michael Cook, Rhys Davies, Mouodou Touray, Joe Hunt, Tom Savigar and Liam Warman all signed their scholarship papers last night at Rodney Parade.

The newly signed scholars will now embark on a two-year scholarship, where they will represent the Club in the EFL Youth Alliance fixtures under the guidance of Academy Manager Byron Anthony and coaches Danny Elliot, Mykee Jenkins and Dan Benham.

Academy Manager, Byron Anthony, told the Club’s website what the scholars can expect from working with the Club’s Academy.

"There is an intense pre-season programme that we have put together and we have several games lined up to get the boys geared up and ready for the new season."

"They will now adapt to life as full-time scholars and we are looking forward to helping them progress during the time they spend here at the Academy."
