BEN TOZER SIGNS FOR THE EXILES

Newport County AFC are delighted to announce the signing of defensive midfielder Ben Tozer on a one-year deal.

The twenty-six-year-old becomes the latest recruit to join the ranks at Rodney Parade, as Manager Warren Feeney continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the 2016/17 EFL season.

Born in Plymouth, Ben started his career at Swindon Town, before making a switch to Newcastle United in 2008.

Following his two-year spell at Newcastle, Ben joined Northampton Town on loan in September 2010 and joined the Cobblers permanently in June 2011.

After making over 170 appearances for Northampton Town, Ben joined Yeovil Town last summer and made over twenty appearances in EFL League Two.

Speaking after putting pen to paper on his move to the Exiles, Ben told the Club’s website, “It has been a bit of a whirlwind with the deal being sorted out so quickly, but I'm delighted to get the deal done and over the line."

"I have been over the training ground this afternoon and met some of the lads. Speaking to Warren it is clear that he has impressive plans for the squad and it is something that I'm looking forward to being a part of."

Manager Warren Feeney commented, "Ben is another fantastic addition for us."

"He has experience at this level which will be a great benefit for us and is another player that has the right mentality, and I'm sure he will gel in well with the players that we have added to the squad over the summer.”
