Getting there

Getting to the One Call Stadium is relatively easy:

By train -Leaving Newport at 8:00am arriving in Nottingham at 11:03. There is then a 20 minute connection before the train to Mansfield leaves Platform 1A at 11:26, arriving in Mansfield at 3 minutes to 12. For the return journey there is a train at 17:14 although expect this to be busy as home fans travel back to Nottingham after the game. This service leaves Nottingham at 18:10 and returns to Newport at 21:11.

By car– A449, A40, M50, M5. Leave the M5 at junction 4A where it joins the M42 and continue along its entirety where it merges with the A42. The A42 merges into the M1 and continue along until reaching junction 28, taking the A38 for Mansfield. Pass King’s Mill hospital on left, turn right at traffic lights onto Sheepbridge Lane, left onto Quarry Lane after the railway bridge and the ground is shortly on the left. There are car parks nearby the stadium on the left, although the retail park is not free.

Adam Chapman – now in his second spell at Mansfield Town, Chapman also had two spells at Newport make a total of 104 appearances scoring 5 goals. He has made 26 appearances for Mansfield to date including 4 goals in his first spell, although he is yet to find the target this season.

Last meeting

Mansfield came to Rodney Parade and left with all three points thanks to an 87thminute goal from Reggie Lambe at the back post from a couple of yards out. Newport still managed to hold on to the final playoff place after this game because Plymouth had lost to Stevenage by the same score line. 


Last time out

this weekend.thJohn Sheridan’s first game as Newport County manager end in a 1-1 draw with Exeter City. The visitors took the lead just after the hour mark when Joel Grant found himself in space in the Newport penalty area and was able to slot the ball past Joe Day. Their lead was to only last twelve minutes though as Lenell John-Lewis was able to pounce on a rebounded blocked shot to fire a volley into the net to tie the game up. Newport are now two points from safety, but have the potential to reach 20
