Newport County AFC can confirm that acting Chairman Howard Greenhaf is supporting the Trust's bid to takeover the club.
The Board are backing the Trusts bid to takeover, with acting Chairman Howard Greenhaf stating "we at the Club wish the Supporters the best of luck tomorrow night and we hope that the fans get behind the Trust in their quest to raise funds."Howard continues by saying he will be stepping down from the current County Board once the takeover is completed and the Trust have appointed a new Board.
Howard goes on to state "upon completion of the takeover I will be gifting my shares to the Trust, but I will always be there to support the Club and to help in any way that I can, that is also true for the current non-executive Directors."
The news comes as non-exectuive Directors Mark Crook and Nathan Blake have decided to step down from their postions on the County Board. The Club would like to thank them both for their considerable contribution as Directors.
The Supporters Trust meeting will take place at 19:00 in the Riverfront Theatre on Friday evening. We hope to see all those present tomorrow evening here at Rodney Parade on Sunday afternoon as we welcome QPRs First Team for a pre-season friendly.
