Newport County physio Adam Roche says recovery is key ahead of the Exeter trip.
Speaking exclusively to the Official Newport County Website, Roche described what the players need to do to make sure they are ready for the trip to Exeter on Monday. "The model we follow is a 48 hour recovery period post game, so after the Hartlepool game we'll have Saturday and Sunday as recovery.""It's simple things like staying hydrated, eating properly, doing their recovery stretches, having ice baths, getting a massage, things like that to make sure they feel better. If they feel better they'll move better and be ready quicker."
The County players reported for their recovery session at the training ground on Saturday morning and whilst the recovery plan is nothing new, the routine Roche and the County management prescribe to the players is crucial "It's not a case of sitting and doing nothing, the boys are brilliant at their recovery, they know what they need to do.
"They'll report for training on Saturday, we'll do some light recovery work, we might go to the pool and do some running in the water.
"It's nothing new, nothing exciting, but it's making sure they do it properly and professionally."
