Joe Thomas, born on 12th March 2002, signed a two-year contract with Newport County in July 2024. At 22 years old, Thomas adds a dynamic presence to the fullback position, known for his ability to excel in both defensive and attacking roles.

Thomas began his football career with Cambrian & Clydach in the Cymru South, joining their academy at the age of 12. He made a significant impact, registering six assists in his final season—the highest in the league—and scoring a remarkable hat-trick from right-back in a league victory over Taffs Well. His standout performances attracted attention from several top clubs.

In January 2022, Thomas made the move to Swansea City, where he continued to develop as a promising fullback. Despite being a defender, he was known for his goal-scoring ability from right-back, contributing several goals during his time with Swansea’s under-23 side.

At Newport County, Thomas is determined to build on his strong start to his professional career and bring his attacking flair and defensive skills to the Exiles' backline.
