Anthony Glennon joined Newport County in 2024, bringing both defensive solidity and attacking support from the left-back position. Known for his strong tackling, composure on the ball, and ability to contribute going forward, Glennon adds valuable experience to the Exiles' backline.

Born on 26th November 1999 in Bootle, Glennon started his youth career at Liverpool, where he progressed through the ranks before moving to Burnley in 2018. He became an integral part of Burnley’s under-23 side, captaining the team and showcasing his leadership qualities. Glennon gained his first taste of senior football on loan with Grimsby Town during the 2019–20 season. His performances at Grimsby earned him regular game time, where he made 27 appearances and scored his first professional goal.

Glennon joined Grimsby on a permanent in 2022 where he went on to represent the mariners 46 times before ultimately making the move to Newport County. With his experience in the Football League, Glennon is keen to establish himself as a key player at Rodney Parade, combining his defensive awareness with his ability to provide width and support in attack.
