Nick Townsend linked up with the Exiles in August 2018 after a three-year spell with Barnsley, having made 16 appearances between the sticks for the Tykes. The 26-year-old began his career with Birmingham City, where he spent 10 years in the youth setup before making the step up the senior squad in 2013. He had four loan spells during his time in the Midlands, representing Oxford City, Lincoln City on two occasions and Barnsley, who he joined on a permanent deal in September 2015.
