Nelson Sanca signed his first professional contract with Newport County in July 2024, bringing a fresh and promising talent to the Exiles' defensive line. 

Nelson Sanca signed a two-year professional contract with Newport County, continuing the club’s tradition of nurturing young talent from its academy. At just 17 years old, Sanca has already made a significant impact, showcasing his potential and earning his place in the senior squad.

Sanca joined Newport County last summer on scholarship terms, having previously developed at Canton Football Club in the Ardal Leagues. His debut season in NP19 was marked by standout performances, particularly during the under-18s' impressive FAW Youth Cup campaign, where the team reached the quarterfinals.

Sanca’s strong performances earned him his first-team debut against Tranmere Rovers in April. Following this, he started the last two league fixtures of the season, demonstrating his readiness for senior football.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions, Sanca was awarded the club's academy Player of the Year. His solid defensive displays and potential earned him a professional deal, and he is eager to build on this early success in his career.
