Luke Jephcott, born on 26 January 2000, is a Welsh striker who joined Newport County in January 2024. The forward brings a wealth of experience to the Exiles, having enjoyed a successful career with Plymouth Argyle, Swindon Town, and St Johnstone, along with valuable international experience at youth level with Wales.
Jephcott began his career at Plymouth Argyle, where he made his professional debut in October 2018. He quickly made an impression, earning a permanent spot in the team and playing an integral part in their promotion to League One. The 2020-2021 season saw Jephcott in sensational form, scoring 14 goals in just 18 league games, which attracted the attention of Championship clubs. His goal-scoring ability was further showcased when he won both the EFL League Two Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month awards in January 2020.
Following a loan spell at Swindon Town in 2022, Jephcott made the move to St Johnstone in 2023, before eventually making the switch to Newport County. He made his debut for the club in a 2-1 victory against Swindon Town in February 2024, and has since added valuable experience to the squad.
