Player Biography

Keenan Patten, born April 7, 2001, is a Welsh midfielder who joined Newport County on deadline day in January 2025, signing an 18-month deal with the club. Patten joined the Exiles from JD Cymru Premier side Barry Town United, where he enjoyed a productive spell, scoring 10 goals in 26 appearances this season.

A product of the Cardiff City Academy, Patten’s career began with the Bluebirds, where he signed a professional contract in 2019 after completing his scholarship. He gained valuable experience during loan stints at Hereford FC in the National League North and at Penybont in the Cymru Premier before making a permanent move to AFC Fylde in August 2022.

Known for his versatility and dynamic presence in midfield, Patten is a player who is comfortable both in defensive and attacking roles. His impressive performances in the Welsh top flight earned him recognition, and he brings a strong background of experience to Newport County as they push for success in EFL League Two.

Patten also boasts a strong international pedigree, having represented Wales at various youth levels, showcasing his potential on the international stage. With his technical ability, work ethic, and eye for goal, Keenan Patten is set to add quality and to the midfield as Newport continue their League Two campaign.
