Kyle Hudlin is a towering striker for Newport County, currently on loan from Huddersfield Town for the 2024-25 season. Standing at an impressive 6ft 9in, Hudlin is recognised as one of the tallest professional footballers in the world, bringing a commanding aerial presence and physicality to the Exiles’ attack.
Hudlin’s football journey began in the Midland Football League, where he featured for Castle Vale Town, Boldmere Sports & Social Falcons, and Solihull United. His standout performances earned him a move to Solihull Moors in October 2020, where he netted 17 goals in 69 appearances and made a name for himself in non-league football. In July 2022, he joined Huddersfield Town on a two-year deal and soon after gained experience on loan at AFC Wimbledon, where he scored his first professional goal in an EFL Trophy clash against Crawley Town.
Returning to Huddersfield in 2023, Hudlin marked his senior debut with a goal in an EFL Cup tie against Middlesbrough. A further loan to Burton Albion in early 2024 allowed him to continue his development before joining Newport County in August 2024. He made his debut for the Exiles in an EFL Trophy match against Cheltenham Town and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-1 League Two victory over Salford City in October. Initially signed on a short-term loan, Hudlin’s stay at Rodney Parade was extended in January 2025 for the remainder of the season.
Known for his imposing frame, hold-up play, and aerial ability, Hudlin offers Newport County a unique attacking dimension and is expected to play a significant role in the club’s campaign this season.
