Noah Mawene is a dynamic young midfielder who joined Newport County on loan from EFL Championship side Preston North End in August 2024. Born on 1st February 2005, Mawene has quickly emerged as a promising talent, known for his composure on the ball, vision, and leadership qualities.
Mawene's footballing journey began at Lytham Town FC before joining the Preston North End academy as a U13, where his talent was quickly recognised. As he progressed through the ranks, Mawene captained Preston’s U18s and signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2021. His professional debut came on 10th December 2022, when he made a late substitute appearance in Preston's 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers in the EFL Championship.
In search of more first-team opportunities, Mawene joined Newport County on a season-long loan for the 2024-25 campaign. He made his debut for the Exiles on 31st August 2024, staring in a 1-0 victory over Morecambe in League Two.
