Bryn Morris is an experienced and versatile midfielder who joined Newport County in June 2023, bringing a wealth of Football League experience to the Exiles. Born on 26th April 1996 in Hartlepool, County Durham, Morris has built a reputation as a solid, dependable player with over 150 appearances across England's Football League.

Morris’ football journey began at a young age when he joined the Middlesbrough Academy at just 11 years old. He made swift progress through the youth ranks and made his professional debut for the club at just 17, featuring in an FA Cup win against Hastings United. Shortly after, he made his league debut in the Championship against Sheffield Wednesday.

To gain further experience, Morris embarked on loan spells with clubs such as Burton Albion, Coventry City, York City, and Walsall, where he developed his game across various levels of English football. In 2017, Morris left Middlesbrough to sign with Shrewsbury Town, where he played a pivotal role in a thrilling season, appearing in both the EFL Trophy and League One Play-Off finals at Wembley.

In the 2022-23 season, he joined Grimsby Town, reuniting with former boss Paul Hurst, and made 31 appearances, scoring twice. Notably, Morris was part of the Grimsby team that made history by reaching the FA Cup quarterfinals for the first time since 1939.

Since joining Newport County, Morris has made an immediate impact, making his debut in the opening match of the 2023-24 season against Accrington Stanley. He scored his first goal for the club on 30th September 2023 in a League Two match against Salford City. His leadership, experience, and ability to contribute both defensively and offensively have made him a vital asset to Newport’s midfield.

Internationally, Morris has represented England at various youth levels, captaining the under-16, under-17, under-18, and under-19 teams, showcasing his leadership qualities from a young age.
