Kieron Evans is a talented Welsh midfielder currently playing for Newport County on loan from Cardiff City. Born on 19 December 2001, Evans has been a part of Cardiff City's setup since the age of 10, working his way up through the academy. His breakthrough into senior football came after he impressed as the top scorer for Cardiff's Under-18s during the 2019-20 season, which earned him a place in the first-team squad.
Evans made his professional debut for Cardiff City on 12 September 2021, coming on as a late substitute in a 2-1 victory over Nottingham Forest. Known for his attacking creativity and ability to play in advanced midfield roles, Evans has continued to develop through a series of loan spells, gaining valuable experience at clubs like Linfield, Torquay United, and Gateshead. While at Gateshead, Evans helped the club win the FA Trophy at Wembley during the 2023-24 season.
Evans signed a new contract with Cardiff City in the summer of 2024 before joining Newport County on loan to gain further first-team experience in League Two. He made his debut for Newport on 24 August 2024 in a 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley, and soon after scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 EFL Trophy match against Cheltenham Town.
