Head coach Nelson Jardim says he is expecting a tough test ahead of his side’s trip to Doncaster Rovers tomorrow afternoon (3pm).
The Exiles are eager to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat to Cheltenham Town and are aiming to recapture the strong form they had before as they face one of the automatic-promotion contenders in League Two.
But Jardim has made clear the Exiles will be expecting nothing other than a stern test in South Yorkshire on Saturday.
"We're expecting a tough game tomorrow," he said. Doncaster are a good team and are flying – they have 17 wins and that means they are a consistent team.
"When a team has won 17 times in League Two this season, it shows they have strength in every area, and we need to be mindful of that.
"They've got really good players, they're an organised team, and they have a clear, concise way of playing. They're definitely one of the best teams in the division.
“They have been there [up at the top] and it's a tough place to go, so we have to look after every detail to compete and try to win the game.
“Everyone experiences ups and downs in this division, but it's how you respond to adversity that counts. It's up to us to ensure we have a clear plan and be ready for the challenge ahead.
“We need to try and utilise our strengths on the day, and as everyone knows anything can happen.
“We’ve just got to try and take every game as it comes and play it in our strongest position that we can be in.”
Jardim also spoke about the invaluable support from the Amber Army, who have been behind the team both at home and away this season.
“We’re expecting a good atmosphere tomorrow,” he added. Our fans have been great away from home this season and have always been there for us.
“The support has been great and I only have good words for them because they’ve been so supportive and I’m grateful for what they’ve been doing for us.”
