Head coach Nelson Jardim felt his side deserved at least a point after they suffered a 2-0 defeat at league leaders Walsall.
A second half brace from Nathan Lowe saw the Saddlers earn all three points at the Poundland Bescot Stadium, which extended their lead at the top of the League Two table to 12 points.
"It was a disappointing result but in terms of performance we were the better team, I have no doubts about that,” said Jardim post-match.
“We were unlucky not to get at least a point and when you play against a team at the top of the table and the only thing they have to offer is set plays and long balls it sums everything up.
"We believe in the way that we are playing. We are controlling games and we should be proud about what we did.
"If we build on this performance then I am sure the goals will come, because we created chances but just didn’t score a goal in the first half when I felt we deserved one.
“I am proud of the effort, character and commitment, plus the way that they believe in the way that we are playing.
“First half, I believe had enough goal scoring chances to score at least one, maybe two goals.
“I don’t think that 2-0 is a fair result, it doesn’t show what happened in the game. We have to be positive and have two big games at home, and home games are massive for us.
“We have to go again, be ready for the next challenge and look forward to Wimbledon on Thursday.”
