Head coach Nelson Jardim hopes his side can build on their 3-0 home victory over Harrogate Town and finish the season on a high.
The Exiles returned to winning ways in League Two last weekend, thanks to goals from Cameron Evans, Courtney Baker-Richardson, and James Clarke.
And now with nine games remaining, Jardim is eager for his team to carry their home form into away fixtures.
“It was a good result for us last time out. We needed to find a way to get back to winning ways, and we did, so that was the most pleasing thing,” Jardim said.
“The next challenge for us is to go again, this time on the road. Can we put together back-to-back wins? We know it’s going to be a massive challenge for us.
“We want to finish the season as strong as possible. As I’ve said before, it will set the tone for the beginning of next season. We have to keep pushing on as a team and a squad and push for more.
“On the road, we have to get back to becoming hard to beat. There have been a few away games this season that have got away from us, but we can’t forget results against the likes of AFC Wimbledon, Colchester and Notts County.
“We have been in those games—very close—but it’s now about finding that final bit, which will come with time with some of these young players.
"As a team, we feel the pressure every day, and it’s important everyone performs to their best level.”
The Exiles face a tough test this weekend as they travel to Blundell Park to take on promotion-chasing Grimsby Town.
And Jardim is fully aware of the challenge ahead but believes his squad must be ready to compete and strengthen their away form.
“It’s another huge game for us, but also for them. Grimsby are a top side who are two points off the play-off places,” he added.
“They’re a good team, and they’ve shown that over the course of the season. But again, it’s about us and how we can approach the game to keep on improving and competing.
“We’re obviously looking to improve our away form—there’s no hiding behind that because it hasn’t been good enough—but we have to be ready for the challenge ahead.
“Saturday is a huge, huge game for us. We want to show everyone that we are also a good team when we play away.
“We want to make sure that we keep progressing and keep competing as a team. These players are fighting for their places, so it’s a huge game for everyone.”
