Stephen Martin will have the whistle when Newport County host Peterborough United on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
Staffordshire-born Martin - whose father and grandfather officiated in the Football League - first took up refereeing in 2002 and had made it to step five of the football pyramid within six years.
The experienced referee regularly oversees games in both the Championship and League One, and is set to officiate his first County match of the season.
He previously refereed the Exiles’ 4-2 home triumph against Forest Green Rovers last Boxing Day.
So far this season, Martin has refereed nine games across the Championship, League One and League Two, with his most recent assignment being Wycombe's 3-0 home win against Leyton Orient.
Joining Martin on the officiating team will be Ian Cooper and Matthew Jones as assistant referees, with Jacob Thomas serving as the fourth official.
