Meet The Officials | Fleetwood Town (A)

Peter wright

Peter Wright will be the man in charge when Newport County travel to Fleetwood Town on Saturday afternoon (3pm).

The man from Liverpool was promoted to the National List of Referees in the summer of 2018, having worked his way up from the Craven Minor Football League.

He spent time in a referee academy programme which was located at Everton and Liverpool football clubs, before continuing his training in Durham County whilst studying in the north-east.

After excelling in the National League and being awarded the 2018 play-off semi-final between Tranmere and Ebbsfleet, he took charge of his first League Two match in August of that year.

In recent seasons he has worked mostly in League One, but did take charge of an all-Championship Carabao Cup match last season when Coventry City were defeated by Bristol City.

His officiating team for the afternoon will consist of Matthew Parry and Jack Nield as assistant referees, with Jamie Waters  serving as the fourth official.
