Alan Young will be the man in the middle for Saturday’s League Two fixture against Crewe Alexandra.
The experienced EFL official is a regular at League One and League Two level, and has also been fourth official in the Championship.
The last time Young took charge of a County match came back in January, when he was the man in the middle for Newport’s 1-1 New Year’s Day draw against Sutton United in South London.
Most recently, Mather took charge of Southend United’s 3-1 home defeat to Sutton United in the National League and will now officiate his first League Two game of the season on Saturday.
His officiating team for the day will include Declan O'Shea and Grzegorz Kornasiewicz as assistant referees, with Kevin Morris serving as the fourth official.
