Love Football, Protect the Game - A message to supporters

love football. protect the game.

Newport County would like to remind supporters that throwing objects onto the field of play can result in serious consequences for both the club and the individuals involved.

This behaviour not only risks fines for the club, but can also lead to individual stadium bans, prosecution and damage to the club's reputation.

The club received a warning from the FA after a small object was thrown into the technical area in front of the dugouts during the Chesterfield game last Friday night. The club cannot risk a repeat of the incident.

We would stress in the strictest tone that any individual proven to have perpetrated such an act in the future will face the maximum possible sanctions in line with EFL Ground Regulations and local police.

We remind supporters once again that this behaviour is completely unacceptable and with the aid of CCTV imagery, Newport County will not hesitate to exercise our zero-tolerance policy.

While such incidents are isolated and very much in the minority, they will not be tolerated, whether following the Exiles home or away.

Thank you for your continued support.
