Robbie Willmott will be back at Rodney Parade for Newport County’s League Two clash with Notts County on Saturday afternoon (3pm).
The Exiles favourite, who made 241 league appearances for the club, will be the special guest in hospitality for the Exiles' home game against the Magpies.
Robbie joined Newport in January 2013 from Cambridge United and scored two goals on his debut in a 4–2 away win at Lincoln City. In his first season he was part of the Newport team that finished third in the league, reaching the Conference Premier play-offs where they beat Wrexham at Wembley to return to the Football League after a 25-year absence.
The former England C international went on to make 80 league appearances with 10 goals before being released by manager Terry Butcher in May 2015 at the end of his contract along with ten other senior players in a cost cutting drive.
But after spells at Ebbsfleet and Chelmsford City, Robbie returned to Newport in May 2017 on a two-year contract. He went on to make a further 158 league appearances with seven goals before joining Woking in 2023.
He has remained living in Newport, however, a stone’s throw from Rodney Parade, and joined Cymru Premier side Barry Town in the summer. He is also still involved with the Exiles, coaching the academies under-18s side.
