Newport County is aware of an alleged racist action directed towards an opposing player during Saturday’s fixture against Colchester United.

The alleged incident occurred in the 27th minute.

Working closely with Gwent Police, Colchester United, and our in-house safety team, the individual alleged to have carried out this act has been identified. An investigation is now underway.

Newport County strongly condemns all forms of racism, prejudice, and discrimination. We operate a strict zero-tolerance policy towards such behaviour, and any actions of this nature have no place at our club, in football, or in society.

While this is an alleged incident at this stage, we would like to remind all supporters that this type of conduct is completely unacceptable and deeply harmful. We remain fully committed to ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for everyone, both on and off the pitch.

The Club will continue to work with the relevant authorities on this matter.
