Bryn Morris wants his Newport County side to back up their midweek win over West Ham United Under-21s with a positive showing against Barrow AFC tomorrow afternoon.

The Exiles head to the SO Legal Stadium in search of a first league win in three matches following back-to-back  defeats to Port Vale and Swindon Town.

But Morris, who skippered County to their win over the young Hammers on Tuesday, is challenging his players to bounce back in league action with a positive display in Cumbria.

“We’re expecting a difficult challenge tomorrow," said the midfielder.

“We know the quality of Barrow and the players they have at their disposal. They’re a decent outfit, a hard-working side and show all the things you expect from a top League Two side.

“I thought Tuesday was a very professional performance from ourselves and a good reaction from Saturday.

“Playing against young a Premier League side in midweek can be quite tough as they play a nice style of football and conduct themselves well, but I thought we were pretty good on the ball.

“Out of possession I thought we very good too, we were disciplined in our shape and we showed character and fighting spirit to get the win. We tweaked a things at half-time and that seemed to work well in the end as well.

“We know the last two games haven’t been good enough from our standards but bouncing back is part of League Two football.

“Everyone is capable of beating anyone in this league and it’s just about who turns up on the day and who can put a consistent run together.

“We had a good start to the season and we’ve shown we can compete against teams at the top. Everyone in the group has settled in very well since the summer.

"There’s been a lot of change, of course, but everyone is working hard for each other. It’s a good dressing room and with good personel.”
