Newport County can confirm Bryn Morris will join Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee on January 1, 2025, subject to EFL approval.
The midfielder will make the move to the Sulphurites, closer to his family, following a decision driven by personal reasons.
Morris, who signed a two-year deal with the Exiles in June 2023, has made 78 appearances for the club, netting 11 goals, including a memorable strike against Premier League giants Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup last season.
“It was a tough decision to make, especially to leave a club where I’ve made so many memories at," said Morris.
“However, after careful consideration, I’ve made the difficult decision to move on for personal reasons that are important to me and my family.
“Having a young family, it felt like the right time to make a change that is in the best interest of all involved. My time at Newport will always hold a special place. It’s where I’ve had some of the best moments of my career, played the most games, and scored the most goals.
“I want to thank the fans, players, and staff who have made my journey here so memorable. From day one, I’ve felt welcomed and supported, and I’m incredibly grateful for the relationships I’ve built during my time at the club.
“I wish everyone at Newport nothing but success for the future.”
Head coach, Nelson Jardim added: “Losing Bryn is a big loss for us as he’s been an important player in so many games. However, given the circumstances, this move is in the best interests of both Bryn and his family.
“In life, there are things that matter more than football. Behind every player, there’s a human being, and as a manager, it’s my responsibility to help and support every player I work with.
“Since I arrived in the summer, Bryn has been a regular starter in my side and has been one of the players whose played the most games. He's a top player and a good character; I want to wish him all the very best in the next chapter of his career."
Everyone at Newport County sincerely thanks Morris for his services to the club, and wishes him every success in his future career.
