Bobby Kamwa | It’s always a good atmosphere

Bobby Kamwa

Bobby Kamwa is relishing playing in front of the passionate Amber Army again tomorrow afternoon as his side face MK Dons at Rodney Parade.

The Exiles return to home action for the first time in over a month, following three consecutive away matches.

County will face a strong Dons side, with Scott Lindsey’s men having lost just once in their last seven league matches.

And Kamwa, who has recently returned from injury, is looking forward to the support of the home crowd to help push the team to victory.

“I’m looking forward to being back in front of the fans tomorrow, it’s always a good atmosphere,” said the 24-year-old.

“The last time we were meant to play there, the game got cancelled. I know the fans have been waiting a while for us to be back, so hopefully, we can put in a good performance for them tomorrow and get the three points.

“It's a unique experience playing at home, especially the way the ground is set up. It’s quite tight to the pitch, which I like because you can really feel the atmosphere from the fans. They really get us going, and I really enjoy playing at home.

“Sometimes, as players, we need that bit of energy and backing when things don’t go right. We can lose focus a bit during games, and a little voice from the fans can wake us up again."

Kamwa made his comeback last weekend in the 0-0 draw at Colchester United, playing the second half after recovering from injury.

During his absence, the likes of Michael Spellman and Geoffroy Bony, who recently joined on a short-term deal, have stepped up, and Kamwa believes the competition for places is healthy and beneficial for the squad.

“There are great players in every position. It’s good to have healthy competition because it pushes everyone to do better. I just want to play as much as possible, keep my shirt, and help the team.

“We’re about halfway through the season, and while we’d like to be higher up the table, there’s still time. The team is gelling well now, and you can see from recent results that we’re becoming hard to beat. I think there’s a lot more to come from both me and the team.

"My aim every game is to make things happen and excite the fans. My numbers aren’t the best right now, but I’m working hard to improve and make a bigger impact. It’s all about helping the team climb up the table.”
